Hedi Slimane

Y: Hedi Slimane is an absolute genius. He photographs models, objects, animals, and everyday people in the most beautiful and pure ways. His previous work at Dior Homme were among the most edgy and innovative clothes for young men I think the fashion world has ever seen. Check out a very fantastic interview with Hedi for style.com: http://www.style.com/stylefile/2010/02/the-future-of-fashion-part-three-hedi-slimane/. Alexa Chung

photo via Knight Cat

Y: I really like this girl. I swear I've never seen her wear anything I didn't wanna rip right off her back. For the Elle Style Awards she looked terrific in this little Chanel number. This is definitely a Y dress except I would have loved to seen it paired with a patent leather bootie (YSL perhaps!) but that's just me.

Jessica Stam for Aldo

A: Jessica Stam for Aldo. Beautiful shots by sir Terry Richardson! Oh how i would killlll for those turquoise heels. And metallic gold jacket, of course. Does Aldo provide that as well?
Y: Awww I've never seen this! It's soo cute! Love Jessica Stam! Love the genius Terry Richardson and yes I too adore that metallic jacket. MINE!

J'adore

A: Rebecca Taylors Fall RTW 2010. I had not payed attention to you, until now and i'm sorry for that. This ENTIRE collection rockkks my sockkks!!! It's all pretty basic but the added layers, ruffled sweaters, sheer blouses, and the over-the-knee suede boots, had me at hello. Can't wait to check out more of her work.

Y's Best of Part Deux

Y's Best of Part Une

Y: My best of parts 1 and 2 will consist of my favorite moments of New York Fashion Week so far. I can see myself in each of these looks. Too many words to describe them, so I'll let the beautiful pieces speak for themselves. Maybe if I post them, I will wake up with those furry shorts, a studded shirt, a bucket hat, and that ridiculous TOO GOOD for words Marc by Marc Jacobs jean dress in my closet. A girl can dream. "Long Live McQueen"

Anna Sui F/RW 2010

photos via style.com

Y: Anna Sui is my fashion roots. The first designer I ever fell in love with and possibly the reason I am the person I am today. I know this post should be about her latest show (which is amazing like always) but I always feel implied to mention just how much this woman means to me. Now to the clothes: impeccable, layers after layers of textures and patterns and leather and furs. She designs clothes for Anita Pallenberg backstage at a Rolling Stones concert circa 1969. Never a dull moment, and that's what fashion should be, no?

My favorite Anna Sui quote: "When in doubt, put on the Clash"

Yowzaaa.

A: Lady Chic? I want this yellow hair. Those dark brows. That make-up. The couture. !!!!
Y: Gagaloo! She is fantastic and looks fantastic. Something only someone on the front lines of fashion like Gaga can pull off. And yes, those dark brows and yellow hair are it for me! Fantastic Armani Prive and amazing styling by the one and only Nicola Formichetti.

Alice + Olivia

photo via style.com

Y: Wow! My inner feather obsessed self is screaming. How fantastic are these looks? I don't even know where to begin! Those shoulders are unbelievable with those harems, that dress (or possibly skirt) out of those feathers is stunning I'd live the rest of my life in it, and lastly that dress with the feather shoulders and leather, I mean come on. My only suggestion would be to lose the hat. I get it, but it just isn't working to benefit the look. Otherwise, fashion at its finest.
A: Oh myyy!! I would absolutely love love love to have that feathered shoulder top and leather skirt in my closet. The black on black look is always a classic. I do definitely agree about losing the hat. It does nothing for me.

Calling all the fellas!

photos via style.com

Y: I adoreee Boy's latest collection I really do! Very Holden Caulfield worthy. Fantastic separates for the men as well as possible steals for their girlfriends! PS: I had to add the last shot, purely because this is definitely the most modern looking suit I've seen for the young professional!

Cynthia Rowley Fall 2010 RTW

A: Now lets not forget about Cynthia Rowley. Her "chic monster-girl collection" has tons of LolaMonsters faves... Feathers, fringe and puffy jackets!!! Yum.
Y: The shoes are fantastic. It's fun and whimsical but I don't know it's kind of too much, not very chic. Is it the vibe? I'm not sure but she didn't really do it for me this time around. I appreciate the use of fringe and feathers though!

Are sweats making a comeback?

photo via style.com

Y: I've never been a fan of sweats AT ALL but I have to admit Wayne makes them look good. Not really my thing, but when styled correctly like above they look comfortable and pretty fashionable. Loungers take note, they're far better then a Juicy tracksuit! PS: that gorgeous metallic jacket, sweatshirt, and fanny are pretty fantastic!
A: I'd rock the metallic jacket, sweatsuit and fanny pack any day! While we're at it, lets add some monster, black space boots. Briiing it.

Erin Wasson x RVCA

Y: So I haven't been keeping up with the shows like I'd like to, but I did get a quick peek at Erin's show this morning before I jetted off to my day and fell madly in love with this look! Those white cut-offs, that AMAZING jacket. Lust! All white and creams have never looked this good. Never a disappointment from this girl. Time to update the wardrobe!
A: Allll i've been into lately are creams and whites. Soo cute. And Erins Fall 2010 RTW totally inspired me even more. Y, you should just come raid my wardrobe.

SASHA.

photos via vogue.com and found

A: Model Sasha Pivovarova, on the streets of Stockholm... 3 more days. Let the shows begin!! I am totally enjoying the knitted dress, by the way.
Y: Sorry A, I had to add more pics, if you do Sasha, you gotta do her big! I LOVE this girl! Possibly one of my favorite models. She's so beautiful on and off the runway. She also has excellent personal style and is smart to boot (an art history student, like myself, as well as an artist). Sasha is totally a fashion chameleon and is definitely here to stay.

Alexander McQueen (1969-2010)

photo via style.com

Y: Such a devastating day for the fashion world. Alexander McQueen was not only a fashion designer, but an artist and an inspiration to the entire world. He was a personal hero of mine and one of the greatest designers of our time. McQueen was a true genius of fashion, there will never be another like him.
A: This truly is a tragedy. R.I.P. dear Alexander.

Chanel S2010CTR

photo via style.com

Y: Chanel can never go wrong. One word: AMAZING. The metallic silver, that hair, those stockings! Pure insanity. Super girly and super now like Bardot for 2010. Not to mention those boots, I mean.. gasp.
A: Y, I diiiiieeeeee!! This whole collection is absolutely bananas. I LOVE it.
